Regius Cigars Names New Distributor

After announcing that it was parting ways with distributor Quesada Cigars (S.A.G Imports), Regius Cigars has signed an agreement with a new distribution partner.

Oscar Valladares Tobacco & Co., which is based in Houston, Texas, will begin distributing Regius Cigars on May 1. According to Akhil Kapacee, of Regius Cigars, Oscar Valladares will store all Regius brands in Houston and ship from there.

"I am excited for this new opportunity," said Kapacee in a press release. "It will allow us to have more operational flexibility and ensure consistent and timely delivery of the products going forward. The quality of the cigars will remain unchanged."

Regius Cigars, which is based in the United Kingdom, has been selling cigars since 2010, but didn't begin selling to the U.S. market until six years ago, when Kapacee partnered with Quesada Cigars, located in the Dominican Republic. Regius is known for its Regius Exclusivo U.S.A. line as well as its Black Label brands, which are made at Plasencia Cigars in Estelí, Nicaragua, like all Regius brands. "Regius has a very loyal following in the United States and we are proud to be able to play a part for the company in the world's biggest cigar market," said Oscar Valladares, president of Oscar Valladares Tobacco. Oscar Valladares also owns a factory in Honduras where it produces cigar brands such as Leaf by Oscar and Rosalila.

Kapacee added that he would be showing his products in the Oscar Valladares booth at this summer's International Cigars & Pipe Retailers trade show.
