La Gianna Havana 30th Anniversary Cigars Made With A Twist

barber-pole style. The new cigar, called La Gianna Havana 30th Anniversary, comes draped in a swirl of two contrasting wrappers—one light and one dark.
The wrappers on the 30th Anniversary are more symbolic representations of the exisiting Natural and Maduro lines, rather than exact matches. The 30th Anniversary is finished with a light Ecuador Connecticut wrapper, which matches that of the Natural line, whereas the Mexican San Andrés leaf on the 30th Anniversary differs from the dark Honduran wrapper on the original Maduro line. The blend also incorporates a Honduran binder and a mix of filler tobaccos from Honduras and the Dominican Republic, as well as Pennsylvania broadleaf.
La Gianna Havana first hit the market in 1994. The brand was blended by New England cigar retailer David Garofalo, who named the line after his newly-born daughter Gianna. Presently, La Gianna Havana is available in three lines: Natural, Maduro and Angelic. The 30th Anniversary barber-pole design is meant to pay homage to the diverging wrappers of the Natural and Maduro versions.
The 30th Anniversary smokes, like the rest of the La Gianna portfolio, are made in Honduras at the Agroindustria Diadema factory. They’ll be available as a one-size, limited-edition cigar measuring 6 inches long by 54 ring gauge. Each cigar carries a suggested retail price of $12, or $240 per 20-count box.
La Gianna Havana 30th Anniversary will be at the PCA trade show in Las Vegas and is expected to begin shipping to retailers during the show.
