E.P. Carrillo Pledge Cigars Raise More Than $40,000 For Charity

Cigars are a key part of the annual Els for Autism Pro-Am, created by pro golfer Ernie Els and Marvin R. Shanken, publisher of Cigar Aficionado. Cigar stations dot the course every year, supplying the players with ample smokes, and the cigar industry (just like the spirits industry) has always ed the event.

The company raised $46,256, more than expected. “We anticipated $30,000,” said Perez-Carrillo, “raising over $46,000 has been a wonderful surprise . . . Skye really gets the credit for spearheading this and taking our involvement to the next level.”
The company plans to do another campaign in the future, and has launched a charitable initiative known as Carrillo Cares.
Els for Autism Foundation was created in 2009, and it serves families around the world, and also has created a state-of-the-art facility in Jupiter, Florida, called The Els Center of Excellence to help people with autism.
