Fancy Partagás Humidor Marks 175th Anniversary

The Partagás brand Habanos S.A. will be releasing a decorative humidor filled with 50 Tropicales, large cigars measuring 6 7/8 inches by 54 ring gauge. Converted to the metric system, the cigars are 175 mm long to coincide with the 175th anniversary.
Partagás Tropicales are an unusual size, known as flautas in cigar factories, and are only obtainable through this commemorative set.
The 175 Aniversario humidor is made of a cedar interior and bubinga exterior. Its detailed, marquetry doors unfold to present eight cigars displayed across the top, and two drawers that hold the remaining 42 Tropicales.
Those who attended the Habanos Festival last month were given preview samples of the Tropicales, but there’s no word on the humidor’s release date or price. Habanos did confirm, however, that only 450 numbered units will be produced.
Since the 150th Anniversary humidor was released in 1995, Habanos has presented a Partagás Aniversario humidor every five years.
Humidors like the 175 Aniversario tend to sell out almost as soon as they arrive at retail, as they are quickly purchased by collectors and often resold years later at auction or on the secondary market.
