Miami Cigar & Co. Cutting Its Sales Force

Cigar distributor and brand owner Miami Cigar & Co. is restructuring management and downsizing its sales force starting on the first of January. The company told Cigar Aficionado that it is cutting its sales team by 60 percent.
“Effective January 1, 2021, there will be a reorganization of the company’s business model,” said vice president Jason Wood in an official statement. “The changes include a restructuring of our field operations and management positions, affecting multiple divisions of the company. I do not take these actions lightly, but, while these decisions are not easy, they are necessary.”
Founded in 1989 and headquartered in Miami, Miami Cigar & Co. owns the La Aurora, the oldest cigarmaker in the Dominican Republic. According to Miami Cigars, it will continue to sell and distribute these brands after the reorganization.
Following Miami’s announcement, both La Aurora and Toscano released announcements of their own confirming that their products can still be purchased through Miami Cigar.
