New Details Emerge on Puro Sabor 2020 Festival

When the Nicaraguan Chamber of Tobacco (CNT) announced that Puro Sabor, Nicaragua’s largest cigar festival, was returning next year, none of the pertinent details were established. Now, the CNT has released more information, and cigar fans can finally buy tickets. The event runs January 21 to 25, and starts in the capital city of Managua.
According to festival organizers, Puro Sabor 2020 will span three cities: Managua, Granada and Estelí. Attendees fly into Managua, complete their registration and receive a gift pack containing a box of cigars, guayabera and t-shirt along with various souvenirs. In year’s past, the gifted cigars tended to be quite special, with unique sizes and blends from some of Nicaragua’s largest producers of cigars. After registration, guests check into their appointed hotel, either the Hotel Crowne Plaza or the Hotel Camino Real, both located in Managua.
The first day of the event starts with several activities, including a trip to the colonial city of Granada for a city tour and visit to the Mombacho Cigar Factory, which is housed in a 100-year-old colonial building called Casa Favilli.
The festival then moves to the city of Estelí, the nation’s epicenter for cigars. This leg of the festival is far more immersive, with tobacco field trips and cigar factory tours by day, and cigar dinners by night.
Five hotels in Estelí are blocked off for the event: Hotel Hex, Los Arcos, Don Vito, Casa Vínculos and El MaPi.
The festival concludes in Estelí.
Tickets, which include meals, tours, dinners, a lot of cigars and transportation within Nicaragua cost $1,600 each or $3,100 for a pair.
