Feb 25, 2021 |

In a day when cancellation and postponement is the norm, some semblance of cigar-industry normalcy is on the horizon with the news that the Tobacco Plus Expo tradeshow is scheduled to take place May 12-14 in Las Vegas. The TPE Expo has traditionally been the first cigar tradeshow of the year, an industry only show that includes a host of products found in tobacco outlets, including handmade cigars. cigars have become an ever-larger portion of the show in recent years. The show, which is owned by Kretek International Inc., was originally to be held in January.
Given that Covid-19 is still an issue, there will be concessions. Masks will be mandatory on the show floor (meaning attendees cannot walk around while smoking cigars) and there will be temperature checks, sanitizing stations and social distancing. Exhibitors will be permitted to smoke at their booths, and there will be designated smoking areas for those attending the show.
