Crowned Heads Releases Blood Medicine As Limited Edition

Blood Medicine, a cigar previously only obtainable through events, is now coming to market as a limited-edition release in a larger format. Crowned Heads Blood Medicine Limited Edition 2024 is expected to start shipping later this month.
Blood Medicine debuted in 2015 as a robusto measuring 5 inches by 50 ring gauge, and it was originally limited to a run of just 6,000 cigars. It was brought back in 2022. Now, Blood Medicine is coming back once again, but this time it has been enlarged to a toro measuring 6 by 52. Crowned Heads co-founder Jon Huber says that customer led to the decision to bring it back in a bigger size.
Blood Medicine is made of Ecuadoran and Nicaraguan tobaccos. It has an Ecuador Habano wrapper over an Ecuador Connecticut binder and all-Nicaraguan filler.
Shipping in boxes of 12, production is limited to 1,500 boxes worldwide, with most allocated to the U.S. market.
The cigar gets its name from The Merchant Hotel in downtown Nashville, where Crowned Heads is based. Built in 1872, The Merchant was once a three-story pharmacy before being turned into a hotel in 1892, hosting many iconic musicians over the years from Johnny Cash to Dolly Parton to Hank Williams. It closed in the 1980s and reopened in 1988 as a restaurant called Merchants and is still in operation today. On the third floor, the painted words "Blood Medicine” are still visible on an exposed portion of the original brick wall.
Blood Medicine Limited Edition 2024 is produced in Estelí, Nicaragua, by Eradio Pichardo at the TacaNicsa factory where other brands from Crowned Heads such as Mil Días are also made.
