Warped Corto Maduro Now Shipping

Corto Maduro—the strong, Nicaraguan, single-sized cigar from Warped—is heading to retailers. It was on display at the PCA trade show in April and started shipping to cigar shops yesterday.
The new smoke is an offshoot of the Warped Corto brand that debuted a decade ago. Now that it’s been on the market for 10 years, owner Kyle Gellis wanted to take it into darker, stronger territory.
Corto Maduro comes in one box-pressed, robusto format called X46, which measures 4 1/2 inches long by 46 ring gauge. Besides the dark, Mexican San Andrés wrapper, all the tobacco is Nicaraguan. It’s a full-bodied blend, meant to be stronger than the original, and according to Gellis, the cigar is fueled by medio tiempo tobacco from Estelí, Nicaragua.
While the core line is made at Aganorsa Leaf in Nicaragua, Corto Maduro is produced at the NACSA factory, which is also in Nicaragua. The cigars come in 20-count boxes and have a suggested retail price of $12.95 apiece before taxes. Gellis plans on releasing more sizes later this year.
