“Tobacco was colonial Virginia’s cash crop, fueling its growth and leaving an indelible mark on American history. This release for Fratello conveys the story of John Rolfe, his wife Pocahontas, the Powhatan people and Virginia, binding the state's legacy to a leaf that changed the world,” de Frias said in a press release.
Introduced in 2018, the DMV Series was created by brand owner Omar de Frias as a tribute to Washington D.C., Maryland, Virginia and Delaware, the areas where retailers first carried his cigars. Fratello is also based in Virginia with its headquarters located in Ashburn.
Rolled at the La Aurora factory in the Dominican Republic, Fratello Pocahontas is available in one vitola: a 5 1/2-by-54 toro, and has a suggested retail price of $10. It is made with an Ecuador Habano wrapper, Nicaraguan binder and a mix of fillers hailing from Nicaragua, Colombia and the Dominican Republic.
Production is limited to just 200 boxes of 20 cigars, which feature Pocohontas’ face on both the inner and outer lids.
