Guardian of the Farm Nightwatch Set to Launch

Guardian of the Farm Nightwatch Set to Launch
Guardian of the Farm Nightwatch will come packed in 25-count boxes in four sizes.

Guardian of the Farm is going dark. The collaboration brand launched three years ago is getting a new line extension called Nightwatch that is covered in an oily maduro wrapper grown in Nicaragua.

While the original Guardian of the Farm was a collaboration between Aganorsa Leaf, Nightwatch is a solo project, created by Fernandez.

The all-Nicaraguan blend is said to be “more intense” than its predecessor, and uses only tobaccos grown by Aganorsa. The Corojo binder is from Jalapa while the filler is a mix of Corojo and Criollo tobaccos grown in Estelí and Jalapa. These components are covered by a dark, Corojo maduro wrapper that was grown under shade tents in Jalapa. According to Aganorsa, the wrapper is a proprietary tobacco.

Nightwatch will come packed in 25-count boxes in four sizes: Rambo, 4 1/2 inches by 48 ring gauge; JJ, 5 1/2 by 50; Campeon, 6 by 52; and Orpheus, 6 by 44. The JJ size is box pressed, while Campeon is finished in a Conde-109 style, also known as a drop head, meaning it’s more rounded and blunted than a traditional belicoso. The cigars will retail between $8.50 to $9.95. Each size is named after one of the farm dogs who roam the tobacco fields of Aganorsa.

“To make a second blend for Guardian of the Farm and our loyal dogs is a blessing,” said Fernandez in a press release. “Every dog, whether it is one of ours or your own, is commemorated with this cigar.”

The original Guardian of the Farm debuted in 2016 and has performed well in 93 points and the No. 8 spot on our Top 25 cigars of 2017 list.

The cigars are being rolled at the Aganorsa Leaf factory in Estelí, Nicaragua.
