Plasencia’s Alma Fuerte Colorado Claro Gets New Size

Plasencia Cigars has added a third size to its Nicaraguan Alma Fuerte Colorado Claro line, and it’s shipping to retailers now. Called The Robustus II, the new cigar measures 5 1/8 inches by 55 ring gauge and comes in 10-count boxes.
The Alma Fuerte Colorado Claro brand started in 2021 and is an extension of Plasencia’s core colorado claro wrapper was grown in Jalapa and aged for 10 years before being made into cigars. While the two blends are similar, minor adjustments were made to the Colorado Claro blend to accommodate the lighter cover leaf. All the tobacco in the cigar is Nicaraguan and was grown by the Plasencia family.
Plasencia has been slow to expand its Colorado Claro line. When it debuted, it came in only one size, toro-sized Nestor IV. Unlike the rest of the Alma Fuerte series, the new Robustus II is the only cigar to be rolled in the round, as the other sizes are box-pressed. It has a suggested retail price of $21.50 per cigar.
Alma Fuerte and Alma Fuerte Colorado Claro are made in Nicaragua at Plasencia Cigars S.A.
