A San Cristobal Just For Cuba
There’s a new Habanos S.A., the La Cabañas are “now available in the market.”
The new La Cabaña marks the first time that the Cuban cigar shops—particularly the island’s Casa del Habano stores—are key shopping centers for people who collect Cuban cigars, and receive serious attention from cigar aficionados visiting the island.
This is turning into a very busy year for the San Cristobal de la Habana brand. To celebrate the brand’s 20th anniversary, Habanos created the 20 Aniversario, a cigar that measures 6 1/3 by 52 made especially for La Casa del Habano retail shops. It was announced earlier this year at the 2019 Habanos Festival but has yet to make its way to cigar stores.

The most lavish presentation is the San Cristobal de la Habana 1519, an ornate humidor that commemorates the 500th anniversary of Havana, which is being celebrated this year. This package contains 100 cigars that measure 6 1/4 by 57 ring gauge. Habanos plans on making only 500 of these humidors, and there’s no word on when they’ll start appearing in the market.
