Cuban H. Upmann Magnum 52 To Launch in Hong Kong For Year of the Tiger

Cuba has ed the Chinese New Year celebration with a new cigar that acknowledges 2022 as the zodiacal Year of the Tiger. The H. Upmann Magnum 52, a 5 7/8-inch-by-52-ring toro, goes on sale tomorrow in Hong Kong and will be available to the rest of the world in the coming months.
Red is a symbol of prosperity in Chinese culture, and just like last year’s Hoyo de Monterreys that celebrated the Year of the Ox, the H. Upmann cigars come in glossy red, decorative boxes. The six-sided boxes hold 18 of the H. Upmann Magnum 52s, all of which are fitted with a footband depicting a tiger. In Hong Kong, these smokes are set to retail for HK$852 each (about $109), but prices will vary from country to country as the cigars reach other markets.
Habanos S.A., the worldwide distributor of Cuban cigars, is far from alone in releasing special smokes for the lunar new year. Other non-Cuban cigar companies have already launched their limited-edition Year of the Tiger cigars, all in creative packaging.
The Magnum 52 is the newest addition to H. Upmann’s Magnum series of heavy ring gauge cigars, which includes the Magnum 54 and special editions such as the Magnum 56 (presented in jars for duty-free) and the Super Magnum, created for the 2020 Colección Habanos presentation.
