Diesel Whiskey Row Founder’s Collection Features Barrel-Aged Tobacco

Diesel Cigars and Rabbit Hole Distillery come together once again for a third collaboration that features a barrel-aged binder leaf. Called Diesel Whiskey Row Founder’s Collection, this limited-edition cigar is made by Derby Week.
The new Diesel is offered in one toro size that measures 6 inches long by 52 ring gauge and comes in a 10-count box. In between its dark, Connecticut broadleaf wrapper and Nicaraguan filler is a binder leaf of Nicaraguan tobacco purportedly aged in charred, American oak barrels that once held Rabbit Hole Founder’s Collection Boxgrail Rye Whiskey.
According to Justin Andrews of brand owner Scandinavian Tobacco Group, the purpose of the barrel-aging is to impart some of the barrel’s characteristics such as vanilla, caramel and black pepper.
The cigar has a suggested retail price of $15.79 each, and while it’s blended to pair with the Rabbit Hole whisky, Andrews believes the cigar can also stand on its own.
The first collaboration between Diesel and Rabbit Hole took place release in 2019 differed slightly, as the binders were aged in Sherry casks.
Diesel cigars are distributed by Forged Cigar Co., a subsidiary of Scandinavian Tobacco Group.
