Te-Amo is Spanish for “I love you,” and our tasting simply adored this Mexican cigar, ranking it No. 13 on our Top 25 for 2014. Inside is a bit of Nicaraguan leaf and a whole lot of Mexican tobacco, making this the best Te-Amo we’ve ever smoked.
Illusione Fume d'Amour Lagunas
Our current Cigar of the Week has a romantic theme, as the name Fume d’Amour translates to “smoke of love.” It comes from the creative mind of Dion Giolito, who makes this 89-point cigar in Nicaragua. It’s somewhat unusual due to the absence of ligero leaves, the strongest variety grown. You won’t miss them.
Fuente Fuente OpusX Love Affair
This short perfecto measures only 4 5/8-inches long by 52 ring gauge and was created in 2008 by Carlos Fuente Jr. to celebrate his parents’ 55th wedding anniversary. Celebrating 55 years of marriage is a rare feat, and these cigars are a rare find. We rated them three times, and in every review the cigars have scored quite well.
La Aroma de Cuba Mi Amor Belicoso
This romantically named brand (mi amor means “my love”) has garnered superb ratings again and again. We’ve tasted Mi Amors a dozen times, and the brand has never failed to score in the 90s. The cigar, made by the Garcia family for the Levins of Ashton Distributors, took its highest score of 95 points when it was named Cigar Aficionado’s No. 2 cigar of 2011.
