Fonseca Classic Gets a New Look

Fonseca Classic, one of the oldest brands in the Quesada cigars portfolio, is getting a packaging overhaul. Gone are the original, plain cedar cigar boxes emblazoned with the familiar Fonseca logo; in are more modern-looking wooden boxes, complete with a bright red lid.
According to Quesada Cigars, only the packaging for Fonseca Classic is changing, meaning the blend—Dominican binder and filler covered by a Connecticut wrapper—will remain the same.
“Us taking Fonseca and revamping it marks the perfect representation of the torch being ed on to us, and we are happy to take Fonseca away from the past and on to its next chapter in this journey called Quesada cigars,” said Raquel Quesada, senior brand director and daughter of owner Manolo Quesada.
The old Fonseca boxes stacked the cigars inside in four rows of six, while cigars in the new packaging are stacked in two rows of 12.
Fonseca Classic is available in four sizes: 5-50, which measures 5 inches by 50 ring gauge; 10-10, 7 by 50; 8-9-8, 5 1/2 by 43; and 2-2, 4 by 40. The 2-2 size is available in boxes of either 10 or 50 cigars.
