Macanudo Emissary España Gets A Limited Edition

The Macanudo Emissary España from General Cigar Co. is getting a limited-edition Torpedo but, unlike the core line, the cigar is box-pressed rather than round. The new cigar is shipping to retailers tomorrow.
Measuring 6 inches by 52 ring gauge, the Torpedo has a suggested retail price of $17.99. The regular-production line consists of four sizes: Robusto, Toro, Perfecto and Churchill.
Macanudo Emissary España is made in Honduras at the HATSA factory and consists of tobaccos from five countries. The defining tobacco, however, is the leaf from Spain in the filler, which General says was aged for 10 years—very unusual in the cigar world. The Spanish tobacco was grown from Cuban seeds planted near the town of Riolobos, located in Western Spain (close to Portugal’s border) in rocky soil near olive trees and pepper fields used for paprika.
Surrounding the Spanish tobacco is a filler blend from Colombia, Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic (Connecticut broadleaf wrapper.
Production of the Torpedo is limited to 1,500 boxes of 16 cigars.
