Manolo Quesada Celebrates 75th Birthday With Limited-Edition Cigar
Yesterday, Manuel “Manolo” Quesada, patriarch of the Quesada cigar family, turned 75 years old. In honor of this milestone and his many decades in the cigar industry, he blended a limited-edition cigar himself called the Manolo Quesada 75th. It should start appearing at retail this summer.
“I have been very fortunate, and blessed, to have worked in the tobacco world for 63 years, and for 48 years in the cigar manufacturing side of the industry,” said the Cigar Aficionado Hall-of-Famer in a press release.
Made at Quesada’s Tabacos de Exportación Inc. (TABADEX) factory in the Dominican Republic, the cigar will only be available in a single Churchill size measuring 6 3/4 inches by 48 ring gauge—one of Quesada’s go-to sizes. The Manolo Quesada 75th is rolled with an Ecuadoran Corojo wrapper, a Dominican binder and a mix of Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers. They’re slated to retail for $15 each.
Manolo Quesada 75th will be available for preorder at this year’s PCA trade show and production will be limited to only 1,200 boxes of 10.
