My Favorite Cigar

Comedian Jeff Dye was introduced to cigars by Terry Bradshaw. “It was like the first time I’d ever met a real man,” he jokes. “He would always be handing me a cigar.”
Dye, 41, has been smoking cigars for 10 years. “I smoke Ashtons, [CAO] Mortal Coils, and lately I’ve been smoking a lot of Plasencias,” he says. The latter is his favorite, particularly the Alma Fuerte Colorado Claro Eduardo I, a fat toro.
The entertainer used to pair his cigars with whisky, but he’s been sober for the past year. “I’m smoking more cigars now,” he says. “The cigars are great as far as it gives me something I can do while somebody else is having a drink.”
Podcasts, comedy specials, club appearances and various TV shows keep Dye busy. He’s become a regular on the “Gutfeld!” show on Fox News and the Joe Rogan Experience, the most popular podcast in the world. “I believe all comics are the last bastions of free speech,” he says. His job involves extensive travel, but it’s a life he enjoys. “I’m on the road a lot, but I really enjoy being on the road.” Cigars are a frequent companion. “I travel with a travel box. I reward myself after the show with a cigar.”
