Jay Glazer, like so many cigar smokers, goes straight to the fatter smokes when he’s reaching into a humidor. “I don’t like the thin ones,” says the man who is seen every week during football season on “Fox NFL Sunday.” Glazer, known as the NFL Insider, seems to live on his phone, working call after call and frequently interrupting a conversation to get a tip here and an insight there.
His smoking spot of choice is his balcony, and he typically smokes while making his “scooping calls,” puffing on a cigar while sipping some wine. He tries to call people from every team, every week, to figure out just what’s going to happen on game day.
What is Glazer reaching for from his humidor nowadays? “I love the Plasencias,” he says, adding that he’s also fond of Montecristos.
And while Glazer may be physically outsized by his castmates on “Fox NFL Sunday,” he’s no pushover—he’s the founder of Unbreakable, a gym in Hollywood, California, and can be seen on social media going toe-to-toe with far larger men. “Here is where I do some of my best therapy,” he has said of his gym. “Vulnerability is the ultimate strength.”
