New Batch of Joya de Nicaragua’s Número Uno Hitting Stores Soon, Along with New Size

Joya de Nicaragua will soon ship more boxes of its 92-point Número Uno, a cigar once rolled only for Nicaraguan ambassadors but released on a wider scale last year. Fans of the original will also get a chance to try a new, larger Churchill format, which will also be shipping soon to retailers.
Número Uno was originally made as a unique gift for diplomatic purposes. In 2018, though, the company began offering the cigar at events, and then last year it was Cigar Insider.
Joya de Nicaragua will be sending 800 boxes of the original L’Ambassadeur to official Drew Diplomat Retailers beginning in July. Additionally, the company will send a new Churchill size called Le Premier, which measures 6 7/8 inches by 48 ring gauge.
Le Premier sports the same blend as its high-scoring brandmate: binder and filler from Nicaragua, with lightly hued, Connecticut-seed leaf grown under the cloudy skies of Ecuador. Both are topped with a pigtail cap as well.
Le Premier comes in 25-count boxes and is slated to carry a retail price of $16.60 per cigar. Like L’Ambassadeur, only 800 boxes of Le Premier will ship.
“Número Uno is a very special product for us, we always say it’s the dream of any cigarmaker, as we responded to the market's desires to have this product,” said Juan Martínez, executive president of Joya de Nicaragua, in a press release. “It represents the pride of our country, as this was the blend that we created to honor the most important guests, and now it is sold only in the best brick-and-mortar stores around the world.
