Regional Edition Avos Coming Next Week

Davidoff is taking several new directions with the second installment of its Avo Regional Edition. Avo Regional North and South Editions will be reaching cigar shops on October 1.
The original plan was to limit the sale of the new smokes based on the geographic location of the retailer, mimicking the 2019 release of the Avo East and West Regional Editions. But Davidoff changed course due to the unusual events taking place in 2020, so both versions of the new smokes will be offered throughout all parts of the United States, regardless of region.
Each cigar is different. The North Edition is a perfecto measuring 6 5/8 inches by 50 ring gauge, and it’s a Dominican Olor and Piloto tobacco in the filler. The cigar is distinguished by a yellow Avo band with a secondary yellow band emblazoned with a silver com rose. Its light blue box represents the cooler climates of the North.
The South Edition, which is clad in blue bands, is a 7 by 52 torpedo with an Ecuadoran wrapper and binder, and a blend of filler from the Dominican Republic, Honduras and Peru. The South Edition’s bright yellow box evokes the sunny climate of the South.
According to the company, both regional cigars are medium in strength and will have a suggested retail price of $14.00 each.
The North and South Regional Editions are made at the Oettinger Kelner (OK) Cigars factory in the Dominican Republic. There are 10 cigars per box, and production will be rather small, with 2,000 boxes of each designated for the United States market and 4,250 boxes of each regional edition in total for the world market.
