Rocky Patel Launching Number 6 Tubos

Rocky Patel is temporarily expanding his Number 6 line with a tubed version. It’s a one-time release available only to retailers who attend the PCA trade show, which starts tomorrow. The cigars will come packed 10 to the box and will ship in August. The suggested retail price is $12.40 per cigar, or $124 for a box of 10.
The Number 6 Tubo is the same size as the Number 6 Toro, just in a tube. The Toro, which rated 90 points in a June 2020 Cigar Insider blind review, measures 6 1/2 inches by 52 ring.
The box of Tubos is a mistake—originally intended to be part of Rocky Patel’s Tubeaux program, where tubed cigars are sold in a case, without boxes. The factory accidentally put 15,000 cigars in boxes of 10, for 1,500 boxes, and the company decided to make it a special release for the show.
“There are 1,499 boxes left,” says Nish Patel. “We tried one here at the office.”
Number 6 is made in Honduras with a blend that’s all Honduran, save for a bit of Nicaraguan in the filler.
