VegaFina Launching Year Of The Rabbit Cigar

January 22nd marks the start of the Year of the Rabbit for Chinese Lunar New Year, and the U.S. market will be the first to receive a commemorative VegaFina Year of the Rabbit 2023 cigar. American shipments should go on sale by the end of the month, while the rest of the world will have to wait until February.
With its decorative red boxes and stylized Chinese motif, the zodiac-themed smokes are a limited-edition homage to the Chinese Lunar New Year (last year was Year of the Tiger) and the cigars come presented in decorative glossy red boxes designed to reflect the occasion.
Measuring 6 inches by 50 ring gauge, the VegaFina Year of the Rabbit is a torpedo that’s set to retail for $12 each. They’re packaged in 16-count boxes arranged in two sections of eight, as the number eight is considered good luck in Chinese culture.
According to Altadis, these torpedoes are blended to start mild and gradually become quite full bodied. This increase in strength is achieved via the specific placement of the Dominican and Nicaraguan filler tobaccos, which are held together by a Dominican binder and wrapper from Ecuador.
Made in the Dominican Republic at Tabacalera de Garcia, the VegaFinas have a foot band to match the box design. Only 1,500 boxes are being released for the U.S. market.
