Viaje’s New Cigars Spook Retailers This Halloween

The Viaje Cigar Co. is celebrating this Halloween with two limited-edition cigar brands presented in festive, season-appropriate packaging-Skull & Bones and Full Moon.
"This Skull & Bones is more like a line extension because we release a Skull & Bones each year outside of Halloween," said brand owner Andre Farkas. They'll come packaged in slide-lid boxes of 25 and are rolled in a "M?stery" shape which Farkas won't disclose. "It's a secret" he said cryptically "but the bands do, in fact, glow in the dark."
Farkas is also withholding the retail price of the Skull & Bones but did add that the cigar features a maduro wrapper and only 200 boxes were produced.
Also debuting this month is the Viaje Full Moon, a first-time release that comes packaged in an eye-catching circular box depicting a sinister jack-o-lantern on a solid black background.
Inside the round box are 24 Corojo-wrapped, 5 inch by 58 ring cigars, all of which are made of Nicaraguan tobacco. The inner lacquered box is protected by a decorative outer cardboard shell. Full Moons are set to retail for $11.40 each and, according to Farkas, come adorned with a special band that he wants to keep under wraps until the cigar officially hits retail shelves.
"This cigar was a couple of years in the making," said Farkas. "The boxes are by far the most elaborate packages I have ever put together." Only 400 boxes of Full Moon were produced.
Both the Skull & Bones and Full Moon are made at the Raices Cubanas factory in Honduras.
