Villiger’s Delayed Nicaraguan Edición Limitada Coming Early Next Year

In the aging room at the Villiger de Nicaragua factory in Estelí, 10,000 limited-edition cigars are waiting to be boxed up and shipped out. Called Villiger de Nicaragua Edición Limitada 2022, the cigars were supposed to be on the market this month, but issues with packaging production caused a delay. Now, the cigars are expected to ship in January.
The Villiger de Nicaragua Edición Limitada 2022 comes in one size, a box-pressed Torpedo that measures 6 inches by 52 ring gauge. It’s Ecuadoran wrapper and Mexican binder hold together a filler blend of tobacco from Nicaragua and Pennsylvania. They will have a suggested retail price of $15 per cigar and come in 20-count boxes. Only 500 boxes will be released.
Opened a year ago, Villiger’s Nicaraguan factory produces brands such as Villiger San’Doro. The brands were previously made under contract at other factories before Villiger took over production for better control of the manufacturing process.
The Villiger de Nicaragua Edición Limitada 2022, along with all of Villiger’s handmade, cigars, are distributed out of Miami by Villiger Cigars North America, the division of Villiger Söhn AG, known for its machine-made tobacco products.
