New Hoyo De Monterrey Escogidos To Premiere In Poland

The Cuban Hoyo de Monterrey Escogidos is launching on Wednesday at a cigar event held in Warsaw, Poland, and will be sold exclusively through La Casa del Habano shops, the international network of official Habanos retail stores. The standard secondary band identifies the cigar as a La Casa del Habano exclusive.
The party is taking place at an event space located in the Krakowskie Przedmieście, one of the most historical streets in Warsaw known for its old churches, buildings and monuments. It was organized by Fifth Avenue Products Trading GmbH, the official distributor of Cuban cigars for , Austria and Poland.
The word escogido translates to “chosen” or “selected” and refers to both the exclusivity of being chosen as a La Casa exclusive, as well as the tobacco sorting and selection process.
Packaged in 10-count boxes, the Hoyo de Monterrey Escogidos measures 7 1/8 inches by 49 ring gauge (also known as a Pacos in Cuban factories), the same size as the newly announced Punch Sir David, a Regional Edition cigar made for the Hong Kong market.
Hoyo de Monterrey Escogidos is the second La Casa exclusive announced so far this year. The San Cristobal de La Habana Prado will be launching in October in Sofia, Bulgaria. This cigar will also be a La Casa del Habano exclusive, but will also be available to Habanos Specialists.
There are approximately 144 La Casa del Habano shops across 65 countries, and each year Habanos S.A. produces cigars that are made especially for those retail locations.
The Habanos Specialists program began in 2011 as a designation for cigar retailers who don’t meet the stringent space requirements of a La Casa del Habano; as of February, there were 930 Habanos Specialists around the world.
