San Lotano

A.J. Fernandez had been making third-party cigars for quite some time before he branched out on his own and started the San Lotano brand in 2010. The name, according to Fernandez, comes from his family’s brand in Cuba before the revolution. In 2011, Fernandez brought the unique San Lotano Oval to market, a cigar named for its ovular head, flat body and dramatically rounded edges that allow the cigar to sit very comfortably in the mouth. San Lotano is also the name of a Nicaraguan tobacco farm owned by Fernandez, as well as a factory, which he opened in 2017.
