A.J. Fernandez And Jochy Blanco Collaborate On San Lotano Dominicano

Ever wonder what a cigar would taste like if it had both the fine Dominican tobacco grown by Jochy Blanco and the strong Nicaraguan tobacco grown by A.J. Fernandez? Next year, you can find out.
Cigar fans will be ringing in 2019 with a new collaboration between cigarmakers A.J. Fernandez and Jochy Blanco. Set for a January release, the San Lotano Dominicano will be made in Blanco’s Tabacalera Palma factory in the Dominican Republic and it will contain tobacco grown by both Blanco and Fernandez.
The cigar is made with Cuban-seed, Brazilian wrapper, Dominican binder and a filler blend of Nicaraguan and Dominican tobacco.
Retailing from $7.50 to $10, San Lotano Dominicano will be available in five sizes: Corona, measuring 6 inches by 44 ring gauge; Robusto, at 5 by 50; Toro, 6 by 50; Torpedo (box-pressed), 6 1/2 by 52; and Gran Toro, 6 by 60.
San Lotano is one of A.J. Fernandez’s first cigar brands and was named after his San Lotano farm in Nicaragua. It comes in a number of varieties, including the San Lotano The Bull.
The San Lotano Dominicano represents the first time that Fernandez has collaborated with a third-party company to make a San Lotano brand. It’s also the first time that San Lotano has been made outside of his Nicaraguan factory. A secondary band reads: “AJ & Jochy” to remind smokers of their collaborative efforts.
