A Warped Cigar Just For China

There’s a new Warped cigar coming out later this month, but you won’t find it in the United States: it’s intended to be sold only in China. The new smoke—called La Colmena ‘8’—is made in Miami at the El Titan de Bronze factory, like the rest of Warped’s La Colmena line.
“The demand in China for not only La Colmena, but the entirety of our portfolio has sky rocketed in recent years,” says Warped brand owner Kyle Gellis. “We wanted to show our appreciation and respect by crafting them the exclusive La Colmena ‘8’.”
The number eight is good luck in Chinese culture, so that number is prominent on this cigar, both in the name and in its packaging. The cigars come in eight-count boxes, and the symbol on the second band is the Chinese character for the numeral eight.
The ‘8’ is made from the same blend as the rest of the La Colmena line: Connecticut-seed Ecuadoran wrapper, Ecuadoran binder and filler from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. The Chinese exclusive measures 5 1/2 inches long by 52 ring gauge is and is finished with a pigtail cap and closed foot. It will have a suggested retail price of $30 each (close to double the price of other La Colmena cigars) and is expected to ship in the late part of this month.
The cigar is imported by International Marketing Exchange LTD based in Hong Kong.
