Plasencia’s Six-Sided Cigar Gets A Six-Sided Tubo

Plasencia Cigars’ six-sided smoke is getting a six-sided Plasencia Alma Fuerte Colorado Claro Sixto I will be available in a matching, hexagon-shaped protective tube. These tubos will be on display at the PCA trade show in New Orleans and shipping to retailers shortly after.
When the cigar was introduced in early 2021, the Alma Fuerte Colorado Claro Sixto I was a lighter rendition of the Alma Fuerte Sixto II, which is part of the core Alma Fuerte line and more full-bodied. Today, the Alma Fuerte Colorado Claro Sixto I has become the company’s bestseller.
Hexagons have long captivated brand owner and fifth-generation tobacco grower Alma Fuerte line in 2016. But making a six-sided cigar wasn’t just done for novelty’s sake. According to Plasencia, giving the cigar six sides optimizes the cigar’s surface area while maintaining compactness, resulting in better combustion and airflow.
The blend of the Alma Fuerte Colorado Claro consists solely of Nicaraguan tobacco grown by the Plasencia family. Its wrapper, which comes from the Jalapa region, is lighter than that of the core Alma Fuerte line, and Plasencia says it’s been aged for 10 years.
With the new tubo, the 6-inch-by-60-ring cigar is set to retail for $26.25 each before taxes. The tubed cigars will also come in either 10-count boxes ($262.50), or in three-packs ($78.75).
