Fluo Collection From S.T. Dupont

Connoisseurs of high-end luxury come in many forms. Some prefer classical representations of affluence, while others have an appreciation for novelty and eccentricity. It’s the time-honored Rolls Royce versus this year’s sports car, the traditionalist versus the free-wheeling independent. If the latter befits you, consider the Fluo collection from French cigar accessories manufacturer S.T. Dupont. Each entrant in the company’s new selection of high-end, matte black lighters is accentuated with a burst of bright neon colors that marries refined opulence with unabashed vibrancy.

The complete Fluo collection includes a series of lighters from S.T. Dupont’s core portfolio, as well as cutters, pens and cigar cases. All are available in each of the three neon color finishes: blue, green and orange. The lineup is headlined by the French manufacturer’s Le Grand lighter series (pictured above), made in Paris and originally introduced in 2017.

The Fluo Le Grand lighters ($1,595) are as luxurious as they are practical. They feature a sleek design highlighted by a matte black, diamond-tipped guilloche finish that’s accented by a fluorescent-colored ignition wheel that acts as one of the neon focal points. The lighters are compact enough for pocket storage, if desired, but they pack a little weight to them as well.

Operation is easy and versatile. Flip the lid up to hear the signature Dupont “ping,” then flick the colored ignition wheel to the left to produce dual, soft flames. If you prefer a torch action, simply slide the colored ignition wheel upwards and your soft flames will morph into a single jet flame.

The rest of the Fluo lighter collection, also luxurious and vibrant, includes models from the more price-conscious side of the S.T. Dupont portfolio: Defi Extreme ($315), Maxijet ($265), Slim 7 ($245) and Minijet ($185).
